Event narrative

After 1349, the rural communities of Oisans sought to strengthen their economic autonomy. Dauphiné, however, remained strategic. In 1430, a coalition led by the Duke of Savoy and the Prince of Orange launched an offensive. In June 1430, at the Battle of Anthon, the Dauphinois troops, although greatly outnumbered, won a decisive victory. The future Louis XI administered Dauphiné like a true sovereign, gradually reducing its autonomy. Around 1450, Dauphiné was considered fully integrated into France, while still preserving its legal particularities until the Revolution. For Mizoën, these centuries saw the consolidation of a strong and organized mountain community.
