Event narrative
In 1672, classes were held in Villar-d’Arène during the winter. It is unknown under what circumstances they were created. However, by analogy with La Grave— which is probable—it is possible that a local child who had become wealthy, bequeathed a sum of money to allow for the hiring of a teacher or tutor.
