Event narrative
After the fall of the Roman Empire, Oisans changed little. A small local feudalism likely established itself there, as elsewhere in France. At the turn of the millennium, a family emerged: that of the Counts of Albon. Gradually, they took possession of the Grenoble region, then Briançon. Only Oisans was missing to link the two parts. In 1116, Oisans was integrated into what would become the Dauphiné.
