Spartacus Paysio Monument at the Alpe du Villar-d'Arène
Information
The monument of Spartacus Paysio stands at 2,080 meters, not far from the refuge of the French Alpine Club of the Alpe du Villar-d'Arène. This memorial, taking the form of a truncated pyramid, pays tribute to Spartacus Paysio, who died in the mountains, and was erected by his friends from Lyon. The monument, resolutely secular in its design, is built of stones plastered with cement, with a false engraved apparatus, and rises to 2.20 meters in height on a cement base. The inscription on the monument commemorates Spartacus Paysio, mentioning the date of July 2, 1929 and the tribute of his friends from the CAF.
