Chapel / Funeral Chamber
Information
This building, which ended up being used as a household room in the 20th century, intrigues by its ambiguous history. On the gable wall, hidden by a small north construction, a tufa cross adorns the ridge of the north gable. As for the south gable, it formerly housed a tufa statue of a smiling character, hands on hips. This statue is extremely intriguing and could be just as old. The original function of this place remains uncertain. Although it is suspected to be an old chapel, the existence of a statue overhanging it is unusual for the region. Another theory suggests that it was perhaps a temporary funeral chamber for the winter months, although this hypothesis is unlikely given the temporary nature of the hamlet's habitat and the absence of a cemetery nearby.
