Joseph Juge

Biography
Joseph Juge arrived in Mizoën at the moment of its deepest crisis in 1686, just after the Revocation. Originally from La Grave, he appeared as a man of administration, primarily concerned with recovering sums owed to the poor. He accompanied Bishop Le Camus during the collective conversion ceremony. He embodies, in a moment where the village was depopulated and local solidarity was dissolving, the tensions sparked by the forced redistribution of the assets of the poor.
