Event narrative
Around 1450, the Lautaret hospice was founded, testifying to the growing importance of the road linking Grenoble to Briançon. This establishment served as an inn for passing travelers. The warden was obliged to ring the bell regularly during bad weather to guide those venturing into the storm to the refuge.
